Hello. My name is Kirk Sorensen. I am a little uncomfortable talking about myself, but here goes. I am 48 years old and have been self-employed since 1988. During my childhood days, my Dad taught me to hunt and fish. To this day, I believe the outdoors kept me out of trouble as a youth and I learned to love and appreciate the outdoors and the comradery with my Dad and friends.
My late father was a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). After Dad retired, he started Sorensen Investigative Agency, Inc. In 1987 I graduated from Illinois State University with a Criminal Justice Degree and joined my Dad in the investigative business. My Dad and I operated the business for 28 years. I am now the President of the company, and I guess the private Investigative business will always be in my blood. During the years of being a private investigator, I have met a lot of business people. One such person was the late Charles Fuller. “Charlie” as we called him, taught me the land developing business. Charlie and I developed four subdivisions in the central Illinois area, and he taught me a lot about the profession. In 2009 I became a licensed realtor and now am a real estate broker. Since getting my license, I have bought and sold many properties for myself and others. The properties include subdivision lots/tracts, farms, recreational properties and commercial properties.
I hope the experience I have gained will help assist you in your real estate endeavors.
