I was raised on a grain farm in Franklin County, IL. As a boy, when your foot could reach the clutch while sitting on the edge of the seat, you were on a tractor in the field. It was the best life a kid could ever asked for; although at the time in the late 1950’s early 60’s it wasn’t as easy a life as it is today. My Dad worked on the railroad at night and farmed all day to buy more land and equipment. My Mom dedicated her life to her four boys, doing her part in preserving most of what we ate came from the garden and farm. My folks, like many, made the sacrifices back in those days for the land and heritage we enjoy today.

For many years I worked for a major Dallas cooperation. My background included sales, contract negotiations, managing the companies legal matters, and head of radiological surveys – a far cry from a farm boy. As the years went by, my focus was getting back to the farm. The old saying, you can take a boy from the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy – holds true. In the spring of 2015 I negotiated an early retirement and moved back to the farm. After years of a busy work life and my land share-cropped; there’s only so much hunting a guy can do. Buy-A-Farm has a reputation built upon integrity, experience, and the willingness to serve others provided the opportunity to put to use the skills I had accumulated, my love for the land, and the chance to work with some of the best folks around; the American farmer and sportsmen.

My connection to the land is much deeper than ownership, it is a part of my heritage, it is pride and appreciation of those before me, and a responsibility of good stewardship that will insure those after me receives more than just a deed. Although I didn’t realize it back then, but what I learned early on gave to me respect for the land and outdoors today.

I understand buying or selling property is an important decision, and can be an emotional experience that demands professionalism and competency in understanding your needs and objectives. I treat folks as I like to be treated, by serving their best interest in an honest manner.

If you have a desire to achieve your dream of rural property ownership – or you are considering selling your homestead, farm land, or recreational property, I appreciate the opportunity and relationship in serving you and your family. Please call or email me.
